The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) had to intervene in 45 phases in the Football League, out of the 685 phases in which it was checked, in the context of 84 matches played in the first 14 rounds of the league, according to an announcement by the CRO.
The CTO stresses that with the completion of one year of VAR use, it "has admittedly helped significantly in reducing the number of incorrect refereeing decisions that can affect the outcome of a match".
In particular, citing data from the Arbitration Committee which were processed and analysed by its President Milorat Mazic and his colleagues, the CMP states that of the total 685 phases that were checked, 175 involved a possible red card, 285 a possible penalty and 225 were cases of goal scoring.
