The need for the immediate updating of the National Cancer Strategy in Cyprus and the creation of a Cyprus Cancer Institute as an evolution of the National Committee, is called for by the Standing Committee on Cancer of the Cyprus Federation of Patients' Associations (CACA), which stresses the need for the integration of oncological services of public interest, through the existence of a modern, holistic Oncology Centre.
In a statement today, on the occasion of World Cancer Day, which is celebrated every 4th of February, the Standing Committee on Cancer of the OCCC also calls for unhindered access for patients to innovative treatments and clinical trials, the upgrading of services for cancer patients and their relatives, and calls for an emphasis on research and the design of new innovative drugs.
