[CNA] Unemployment at 6.3% of the labour force in Q4 2021

Unemployment fell to 6.3% of the labour force in the fourth quarter of 2021, compared to 8% in the corresponding quarter of 2020.

According to the Labour Force Survey for the fourth quarter of 2021, released today by the Statistical Office, the number of unemployed persons rose to 29.600 persons compared to 36,677 persons in the corresponding quarter of 2020.

The number of employed persons in the 4th quarter of 2021 was 443,937 persons and the employment rate was 60.5% (men 66.8%, women 54.6%), compared to 419.424 persons (58.1%) in the corresponding quarter of 2020.

In addition, the labour force in the last quarter of 2021 amounted to 473,537 persons or 64.5% of the population (men 70.9%, women 58.5%) compared to 456,101 persons (63.1%) in the corresponding quarter of 2020.
