Hydrocarbons expert Charles Ellinas is sceptical about the attractiveness of the East Med pipeline, amid the Ukrainian crisis that is creating new facts in the energy market in Europe.

In the wake of Russia's decision to recognize the breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine, the West reacted with sanctions against Russia, Germany froze the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, while oil and gas prices were already moving upwards due to the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
