[CNA] Transition to a sustainable food system necessary, says Commissioner Kyriakidou

In order to make a decisive and substantial contribution to a sustainable future, the transition to a sustainable food system that respects the limits of our planet is imperative, said Stella Kyriakidou, Commissioner for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission, speaking at an event organised by CFCC in Limassol, urging at the same time Cyprus to revise its strategy.

We are ambitious and determined to face the challenges, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Costas Kadis said, noting that technical assistance has been requested from the European Commission to achieve the objectives.

Speaking at the event organised by the CFCC on the EU strategy "From Farm to Plate", where the high use of pesticides in Cyprus was highlighted, Commissioner Kyriakidou said that
