An impressive 195.9% (or 1.21 million tourists) increase in tourist arrivals in January-November 2021, compared to the same period last year, during which strict restrictive measures against the coronavirus were implemented, while a 52.4% (or 2.02 million tourists) decrease in arrivals compared to the same period in 2019.
Specifically, according to the Statistical Service, for the period January - November 2021, tourist arrivals amounted to 1,840,003 compared to 621,927 in the corresponding period of 2020, an increase of 195.9% and a decrease of 52.4% compared to the period January - November 2019 (3,866,447 arrivals).
In addition, tourist arrivals in November 2021 amounted to 148,973 compared to just 8,952 recorded in November 2020 (an increase of 152%) and 169,392 arrivals recorded
