[CNA] Total employment and real working hours increased in Q2 2021, year-on-year

Total employment increased by 1.6% in the fourth quarter of 2021, compared to the corresponding quarter of 2020, according to a preliminary estimate of the Statistical Office, while real working hours increased by 4.9% on an annual basis.

The total number of workers employed in the fourth quarter of 2021 is estimated at 451,767, of which 402,117 are employees and 49,650 are self-employed.

Compared to Q4 2020, employees increased by 1.5% and the self-employed by 2.1%.

For the whole of 2021, the average number of employees was 448,103, compared to 442,812 in 2020.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, the most significant percentage increases in the second quarter of 2021, compared to the second quarter of 2020,
