[CNA] Tokyo and New York stock markets rise on hopes for a de-escalation of the war

The Tokyo stock market was surging shortly after the start of trading, with investors seeming to expect a de-escalation of the war in Ukraine as the country's foreign minister is expected to meet with his Russian counterpart in Antalya, Turkey, later in the day.

Shortly after 09:30 local time (02:30 Cyprus time), the Nikkei index was up 748.61 points (+3.03%), at 25,466.14, and the broader Topix index was up 55.05 points (+3.13%), at 1.
