Cypriot athlete Ramona Papaioannou has been banned for three years, effective from June 2021, after she tested positive in a doping test, according to WADA.
According to WADA, the 32-year-old sprinter was found positive after a test conducted by the relevant department of the World Anti-Doping Agency on June 14, 2021, at the international meeting in Filothei, Athens.
As stated in the WADA report on 4 February, on 8 December 2021 an accredited laboratory in Bucharest, Romania, detected the presence of testosterone levels, which is one of the anabolic steroids, in the urine sample provided by the Cypriot athlete.
