The minor girl who was found unaccompanied in Athiinou was handed over to her parents at the barricade of Ledra Palace.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Social Welfare, the child was "handed over to her parents by officers of the Social Welfare Services at the Hydra Palace Barrier, in cooperation with the Cyprus Police and the United Nations".

The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Anastasia Anthoussi, "congratulates the officers of the Social Welfare Services who from the very first moment stood by the child and handled the incident with absolute professionalism and sensitivity", the statement concludes.
