The appeal of the Public Service Commission was dismissed by the Supreme Court against a first instance decision in an appeal by the Central Bank's Press Spokesperson and President of the Cyprus Association of Economists, Aliki Stylianou, which had annulled in 2020 the appointment in 2017 of the then Director of Communication of DISY, Sophie Michaelidou, to the post of Director of the Press and Information Office.
In its decision, the Supreme Court, in a three-judge panel, rejected the grounds of appeal raised by the Public Service Commission and S. Michailidou as an interested party (EM), agreeing with the first instance decision.
