President Nicos Anastasiades today briefed the Speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem and the ongoing Turkish provocations both on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus and at sea, with particular reference to the violations of UN Security Council resolutions in relation to the enclosed city of Famagusta.
President Anastasiades received Sir Lindsay, who is on an official visit to Cyprus, at the Presidential Palace this morning at the invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anita Demetriou.
According to a Presidency statement, in the context of the meeting the President of the Republic also referred to his proposals for the Confidence Building Measures,
