The Premier League's Board of Directors has ruled out Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as manager of the English top-flight club, it was announced today (12/03).

"Following the imposition of sanctions by the UK government, the Premier League board has disqualified Roman Abramovich as a director of Chelsea Football Club.

The Board's decision does not affect the club's ability to train and play its matches as set out in the terms of the licence issued by the government, which expires on 31 May 2022," reads the statement released by the English league's governing body.
