The number of civil actions pending in Cypriot courts is not decreasing at a satisfactory rate, says the Audit Office, in a special report entitled "Audit of the Judicial Service".
"Although the number of lawsuits filed during the year is less than those heard, the final number of pending lawsuits is not decreasing at a satisfactory rate," the Audit Service says, adding that because the issue falls under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and in full respect of the independence of the Judiciary, our Service does not make any recommendation.
According to the data provided by the Audit Service in its report, at the end of 2019, a total of 38 cases were pending before the Cypriot Courts.
