[CNA] The LIFE-KEDROS project claims two distinctions in this year's LIFE awards

Two distinctions in this year's European Commission's LIFE Awards are claimed by the LIFE-KEDROS project of Frederick University announces that the project has won The awards are given annually to innovative and effective projects funded by the EU's LIFE programme in the categories of Nature Conservation, Environment and Climate Change.


According to a statement from Frederick University, "the aim of the LIFE-KEDROS project, which started in September 2016 and was completed in January 2021, was the integrated and sustainable management and protection of the Cedrus brevifolia (Cedrosetum brevifoliae) forests found exclusively in the Paphos Forest and within the Natura 2000 network."

It is noted that "this habitat is endemic as it is found in Cyprus and nowhere else in the world, and is classified as a priority habitat
