The complete transformation of the Police into a modern, flexible and efficient organisation remains an unchanging goal of the Government, President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades assured during the ceremony of the confirmation of the new Deputy Chief of Police Dimitris Demetriou.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President of the Republic said that taking into account the high mission of the Corps, which is absolutely intertwined with the maintenance of law and order in society, the decision to appoint Mr Demetriou was determined by his excellent academic training, but at the same time the rich experience gained from many years of service in combat and key positions of the Corps.
