The referral of part of the Law on the Reform of Local Government by the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades was the focus of today's session of the Interior Committee of the Parliament.
The session was attended by Interior Minister Nikos Nouris, who conveyed to the members of the Committee the government's position that the reform of local self-government is a huge achievement for which the executive and legislative authorities worked together, adding that "with the impeachment of the President of the Republic, we not only do not want to endanger this achievement, but on the contrary, we want to strengthen it."
In his statements after the meeting, the Minister said that "the President made this particular referral because through the arguments we developed in the Commission we demonstrated that the particular entity called
