The Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts condemns Russia's invasion of Ukraine, in a statement issued today.
Specifically, the statement said that "the Russian invasion of Ukraine is against the value principles of state sovereignty, freedom, democracy, peaceful resolution of disputes and mutual cooperation", which are the founding basis of the Academy "for the cultivation and promotion of the sciences, letters and arts at the international level through the promotion of equal cooperation, solidarity and dialogue between scientists, writers and artists".
The Cyprus Academy unequivocally condemns the invasion and expresses its support for the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and the Ukrainian people as a whole.
