Recommendations in eight areas to enhance the competitiveness of the Cypriot economy include the 2nd Competitiveness Report (2021) of the Economic and Competitiveness Council, which also includes a separate section on the economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, while underlining that "in many cases no new policies are required from the Government but more emphasis on the effective implementation and coordination of existing policies".
The 2nd Economic and Competitiveness Council Report, which was presented today, records the competitiveness performance of the Cypriot economy, both overall and in selected aspects on the basis of internationally recognised indicators and methodologies, which are used in widely used benchmarking frameworks such as the Global Competitiveness Report
