The appeal filed on behalf of Nassos Demetriou, who was sentenced in July 2019 to 10 years imprisonment for the attempted murder of Michalis Vassiliou, in Mazotos, Larnaca District, was rejected.
It is recalled that in December 2016, after a verbal altercation and a scuffle, Demetriou attacked the victim with a knife, achieving two blows, the second of which was to the part of the heart, as stated in the decision of the Criminal Court. The defendant accused of the attempt was found guilty on three counts, and was given concurrent prison sentences, with a maximum of 10 years for attempted murder.
