A number of teachers absent from public schools last Friday could have been avoided if the retention test procedure had been used, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth stresses, giving data on teacher absences.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the data were provided in response to the request expressed during the Minister's appearance yesterday before the Committee on Education and Culture of the House of Representatives, which released data on teacher absences from public schools.

On Friday 18 February 2022, 1218 teachers (Secondary, Technical, Teachers, Kindergarten teachers, Special Education) were absent from Public Schools.
