Sufficiency in beds depends on the pressure of the pandemic and the forced restriction of non-urgent procedures, says the State Health Services Agency (SHS) in a statement responding "to some untrue statements and publications, that ICU beds are secured through patient deaths", while with regard to multi-resistant microbes, these are found in all ICUs around the world and we have an obligation to contain them by strictly following appropriate medical protocols.

Specifically, he says that Cyprus is ranked among the countries that have successfully dealt with the covid-19 pandemic, having the lowest mortality rate (0.4%).

It adds that in order to respond to the pandemic, in addition to the provision of beds in common wards and PMRs, the OCYPY, in addition to the provision of beds in common wards and PMRs, developed more than 80 ICU beds
