A protest rally against the deportation of Novak Djokovic from Australia took place early Thursday afternoon in Belgrade.

The rally was organized by the family of the Serbian tennis player. In Serbia, a political dimension has been attributed to the case of Novak Djokovic's deportation from Australia. President Aleksandar Vucic said at a press conference that he is in constant telephone contact with Novak Djokovic and estimated that the Australian political leadership is using the event for political purposes. Vucic said that the Serbian government has asked the Australian government to allow Djokovic to stay in the house he rents in Melbourne so that he can train until Monday when the decision on his appeal against his deportation will be issued.
