Stefanos Tsitsipas advanced to the "16" of the Miami Open, beating Alex De Minor 2-0.
The Greek world No. 5 beat the 23-year-old Australian, No. 28, 6-4, 6-3 and will face 18-year-old Carlos Alcarath, the world No. 16, in the next round on Wednesday morning.
"I was able to get everything I wanted today. There were moments when I had to fight harder and show the strength that I have in me. De Minor fought and was patient. I tried to focus on each game individually and how to open up the court," said Stefanos Tsitsipas speaking after the match.
Referring to Alcarath, he said he will fight for the best. "He is a very good player and it will be a challenge for me. I like challenges and I will put my heart and soul out there to get the win and continue in the tournament," he said.
