Cyprus has been under the grip of a heavy winter for the last twenty-four hours, with the bad weather "Philip" dressing Cyprus in white and snow reaching Nicosia.
Around 08:30 on Sunday, heavy snowfall of short duration was observed in the capital, giving residents magical images.
Meteorological Officer Iasonas Christodoulou told the Cyprus News Agency that no more snowfall is expected in Nicosia, noting that in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas snowfall is expected at times at altitudes above 500 metres.
