The Famagusta District Court on Saturday ordered the detention for 6 days of the 19-year-old who allegedly confessed to committing 70 thefts from cars and two burglaries and thefts. Four other arrest warrants have been issued, which are expected to be executed today, Famagusta Police Directorate spokesman Andreas Constantinou said.
According to Mr. Constantinou, "this is a gang of young men who in the last month have carried out more than 70 cases of theft from cars and two burglaries and thefts from residences in the free province of Famagusta.
The cases are being investigated by a special investigative team which has been set up for this purpose.
