[CNA] Serbakova takes gold, Valieva 4th in individual figure skating in Beijing

Anna Serbakova won the gold medal in the women's individual figure skating at the Beijing Winter Olympic Games. The 2021 Russian world champion, who will celebrate her 18th birthday on March 28, scored 175.75 in the free program today and, combined with her 80.20 in the short program (Feb. 15), scored 255.95 points to climb to the top step of the podium.

The silver medal was won by another Russian, Alexandra Trusova. The 17-year-old athlete scored a total of 251.73 (she scored 74.60 points in the short program and 177.13 in the free program) and easily took second place in the women's individual event. The podium trio was completed by Japan's Kaori Sakamoto, who scored 233.13 points overall (79.84 in the short and 153.29 in the free program) and left
