Sebastian Fettel took to the track wearing a helmet in Ukrainian colours to protest against the Russian invasion during the second Formula 1 qualifying session, hosted in Bahrain.
The German Aston Martin "pilot" wore a white helmet with blue and yellow stripes, a dove and the inscription "Peace and love", the words "No war" and the lyrics of John Lennon's song "Imagine". [AT THE INITIATIVE OF THE GRAND PRIX DRIVERS' ASSOCIATION, EIGHTEEN OF THE GRID HOLDERS (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF BRITAIN'S LEWIS HAMILTON AND DENMARK'S MEVIN MAGNUSSEN) STOOD BEHIND A UKRAINIAN FLAG AND A BANNER BEARING THE WORDS "NO WAR" ON THE OPENING GRID OF THE SAKIR CIRCUIT IN BAHRAIN, ALL WEARING A T-SHIRT WITH THE WORDS "NO WAR".
