Barricade crossings remain in deep red due to the pandemic and the measures in place are being adjusted accordingly, effective from Monday 24 January, the United Nations said on Thursday.
A written statement attributed to the UN spokesperson said that "based on the agreement between the Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar, and the Greek Cypriot leader, Nicos Anastasiades, on 2 June, the Technical Committee on Health is continuously assessing the dynamic epidemiological situation and the measures to be implemented at crossing points, as appropriate."
It is added that based on the Commission's assessment of 19 January 2022, the situation is determined to remain at Level 3 (deep red) and adapted measures will be implemented at all crossing points from Monday 24 January (9 am).
