The entire parliamentary group of the British opposition Liberal Democrat party has co-signed a motion for a resolution in favour of a bizonal bicommunal federation solution in Cyprus.

The motion was tabled in the House of Commons on 22 February by Liberal Democrat Foreign Affairs spokesperson and member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Cyprus, Leila Moran MP. [THE TEXT OF THE RESOLUTION STATED THAT THE BRITISH LEGISLATURE "BELIEVES THAT THE INTERNATIONALLY PROPOSED MODEL OF A BIZONAL, BICOMMUNAL FEDERATION WITH POLITICAL EQUALITY, WITH A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WITH A SINGLE INTERNATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY AND CITIZENSHIP" IS THE BEST WAY TO REACH AN AGREEMENT FOR THE REUNIFICATION OF CYPRUS THAT RESPECTS THE RULE OF LAW AND THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF ALL CYPRIOTS.
