[CNA] Red loans decreased by €722 million at the end of September

At the end of September 2021 there was a decrease of €722 million or 14.4% in total non-performing loans (NPLs) compared to the end of June 2021, according to data released on Friday by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

Total loans decreased from €28,388 million at the end of June 2021 to €27,902 million at the end of September 2021, a decrease of €486 million or 1.7%. As a result, the ratio of non-performing loans to total loans decreased from 17.6% at the end of June 2021 to 15.4% at the end of September 2021. The coverage ratio stood at 45.7% at the end of September 2021 compared to 46.8% at the end of June 2021. It should be noted that in the period 31 December 2014-30 September 2021 there was an overall decline in NPLs of €23 billion or 84.3%.
