In England, Liverpool stayed alive in the championship race, remaining 11 points clear of Premier League leaders Manchester City after a 3-0 win over Brentford. Pep Guardiola's side had previously been beaten 1-0 by Chelsea on Saturday, putting the London Blues effectively out of title contention.
