Their vision for the development of the historic Peruvia Lighthouse was presented to the President of the Cyprus Ports Authority by the Larnaca Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), the Centre of Excellence CMMI-Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute and the Peruvia Community Council, at a meeting held yesterday, Monday 28 February.
In a written statement by the EBRD it is stated that "the Lighthouse in Pervolia has remained unused and neglected for some years. With the proposed design, the responsible bodies believe that the Lighthouse will become a meeting point for the educational and research community and a pole of attraction for visitors, while its interaction with the marine element is enhanced in a modern way and means."
