The burning issue of inflation was the subject of an online event held last Wednesday by the Cyprus Union of Economists (UEC) entitled "Price Increases: Inflation Authority or something else? The Great Debate".
According to a statement issued by the EEC, the speakers of the online event in order of presentation were Antonis Ioannou, Deputy Director of Consumer Protection, Mikis Hadjimichael, economist, former senior executive at the International Monetary Fund where he worked for 28 years and recently consultant in Cyprus of the Bank of Cyprus, economist Andreas Charalambous, former Director of Economic Studies and EU Affairs at the Ministry of Finance.
