The energy plans of the Republic of Cyprus will be implemented in the most appropriate way, for the benefit of the well-meaning interests of the people of Cyprus and the friendly partner states, President Nicos Anastasiades said in a written statement regarding the EastMed pipeline.
On the occasion of what is being said about the construction of the natural gas pipeline from the Eastern Mediterranean basin to the European Union (EastMed), the President notes that "the political will and decision of the three states, Greece, Israel and Cyprus was taken under the condition of economic viability studies, submarine seabed morphologies that would make a similar project feasible in relation to the environmental impact".
He adds that the EastMed pipeline has been approved by the EU as a project of common interest as it contributes to energy security
