President Nicos Anastasiades announced the presentation of a comprehensive proposal to the European Council on the need for Europe to take initiatives for a solution to the Cyprus problem and the adoption of Confidence Building Measures (CBMs). Asked, moreover, about the decision of the "real estate committee" to admit as interested parties to the properties concerning the fenced area of Famagusta the EBKAF and bakufic institutions, he said that those who called on the legal residents to appeal to the "committee" were refuted.
In his statements on Saturday, on the sidelines of an event in Limassol for the inauguration of the Volunteer Memorial, President Anastasiades was also asked about the appointment of a special envoy of the UN Secretary General, noting that "there is nothing new".
