The Police draws the attention of the public, which in recent days has received complaints from citizens who receive phone calls from strangers trying to defraud them in order to extort money.

Specifically, as stated in a police press release, citizens receive calls from an unknown number and are told that allegedly their daughter, son or relatives have been involved in traffic collisions and that there is an urgent need to undergo surgery. For this purpose, allegedly to cover medical expenses, the fraudsters ask for a sum of money.
