Due to the weather conditions prevailing in the Troodos area, members of the Police are on standby to provide any necessary assistance to the public, according to posts by the Police on their social networks, Facebook and Twitter.
"Last night, the on-duty police officers of the Platres and Troodos Stations had to intervene in eight cases," it said.
It added that "due to the low temperatures and frost, 8 motorists were trapped in the snow in their cars and our on-duty members provided them with assistance in moving and extricating the vehicles."
