Police have so far not received any official complaint or evidence implicating Cyprus in such a ring, police spokesman Christos Andreou said when asked by CNA about allegations of a ring operating in Greece and Cyprus related to the rape of the 24-year-old girl in Thessaloniki.
"Instructions have been given to investigate the information that has come to light," he added.
He also said that in order to investigate this information, contact will be made through Interpol Nicosia to Interpol Athens "to provide us with any information about any possible involvement or any possible offences committed in Cyprus regarding this information, which for us is very serious information, which we are investigating with all seriousness",
