Two persons, who were arrested in Nicosia yesterday, Wednesday, and who are involved in a case of registration of an infant from an African country, were brought before the Nicosia District Court on Thursday, which ordered their detention for 8 days.
According to a police statement, initial investigations revealed that a mother of African origin with her newborn went to the Nicosia District Administration with a European national, who claimed to be the biological father of the newborn for the registration.
However, as suspicions were raised about the authenticity of the documents presented, the Police were informed and after going to the place, they started the examinations.
