The serious injury of footballer Stylianos Kallenou, in the match between Pox and ENP, on Saturday, for the 22nd day of the B` League "reveals once again the huge responsibilities of the CUP in matters of safety and health of athletes" says PASP.

The failure to create a special protocol of action in cases of serious injuries to athletes "borders on criminal negligence on the part of the organisers," it says. There should, he continues, "be a specific plan so that the organising authority of each sporting event that does not have an ambulance, informs in advance each nearest ambulance point, so that in turn it knows the stadiums where matches are held in its area and records the shortest possible route to each stadium."
