The European Society for Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), the preeminent scientific society in the field of infectious diseases in Europe, has appointed a COVID19 guideline writing group, consisting of experts in the field in Europe. In this pan-European initiative, Constantine Tsioutis, head of the SSC for COVID19 and chairman of the ESCC OSAC, who is already an active member of the European Infection Society through his contribution to the activities of the European Committee for Infection Control (EUCIC), has been invited and participates in this pan-European initiative.
According to a statement by the Cyprus Patients' Federation (CPSF), the aim of these guidelines is to review the literature and issue clinical recommendations to health professionals on various issues such as diagnosis, treatment, laboratory testing and protective measures.
