[CNA] Parents are urged to apply for a registration licence for home childcare

Parents are urged to be examined for possession of a registration licence to practice as a home-based childminder by people who take care of their children, the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare said on Thursday in relation to an incident of the sudden death of an infant under investigation.

Referring to the investigated incident of the sudden death of an infant that occurred yesterday in Limassol District, the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare informs that the person named as the child's supervisor at the time of the tragic incident is not registered as a home childcare worker under the Children's Law.

The Social Welfare Services of the Ministry of State are in contact with the Cyprus Police to contribute to the investigation of the incident, within the framework of their responsibilities, he said.
