[CNA] Pafos Police investigate cases of illegal employment and employment against seven persons

Pafos Police are investigating cases of illegal employment and employment against seven persons in Paphos.

According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michael Ioannou, on 20.2.22 at 10:30 members of the Pafos Aliens and Immigration Service went to a hotel in the Peyia area to investigate information that persons from African countries were working in the place.



There they found two persons, who upon further examination were found to be applicants for political asylum and were not licensed to practice the profession in question.


The two persons were arrested for the offences of illegal employment and were taken into custody at the Pegeia police station. They were subsequently charged in writing and released to be summoned to court at a later date. In their interrogation statements they stated that their employer is a Greek Cypriot
