The Cyprus Federation of Patients' Associations (CPA) welcomes, as stated in a statement issued on Friday, the approval by the Council of Ministers of the National Strategy for Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies, adding that it is expected to serve as a reference for thalassaemia and other haemoglobinopathies in Cyprus.
It states that organised patients convey their readiness to assist, under the guidance of the National Thalassaemia Committee and in collaboration with the Pancyprian Anti-Anemia Association, for the successful implementation of the principles set out in the National Strategy for Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies
It adds that the expected development of the Thalassaemia Centre into an International Reference Centre, Education and Research, will put Cyprus on the world map as a reference point for thalassaemia
