[CNA] On 31 March, the Minister of Agriculture will present the 2021 State Animal Welfare Awards

On March 31st, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment will present the State Awards for Animal Welfare 2021.

According to an announcement by the Ministry, which was broadcast by GTR, the State Animal Welfare Awards, which has been established for the first time by the Ministry of Agriculture, aims to honour the important work of individuals and organisations that promote the protection and welfare of animals in Cyprus, while also highlighting the important place that animals have in life.

As announced, the Outstanding Animal Rescue Award, which is given to an individual, group of individuals or organisation for rescuing an animal in distress, will go to Michelle Metziti for rescuing the dogs Chance and Miracle and the volunteers of the StrayHaven shelter (Nieske De Jong, Paula Fletcher, Mark John Phillips and Sam Taylor) for the dog rescue
