Oil prices surged to their highest level in seven years on Monday amid fears that a possible invasion of Ukraine by Russia could trigger sanctions by the US and Europe that would disrupt exports from the world's biggest oil producer in a market already hit by limited production. [BR][BR]Brent crude oil futures are at $95.56 a barrel, up $1.12, or 1.2%, after earlier reaching a high of $96.16, the highest since October 2014.

US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude is up $1.28, or 1.48%, at $94 a barrel, close to its high of $94.94, recorded in September 2014.
