Fiscally bearable without serious implications for public finances, seems to be the support announced by the Ministry of Finance to businesses affected by the ongoing pandemic crisis, according to a written statement by the chairman of the Fiscal Council, Michael Persianis
As he says, the need for measures of a social nature that support employment in a critical period is understood.
"The support announced by the Ministry of Finance for businesses affected by the ongoing pandemic crisis should be fiscally sustainable and should not have a serious impact on public finances. At first sight, and pending the announcement of the final cost, this appears to be the case, with the cost being close to EUR 3 million.
