The issue of relaxation will depend on the epidemiological picture, the member of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), Professor of Microbiology/Molecular Virology at the University of Nicosia Medical School, Dr Petros Karagiannis, told CNA, noting that although there is a stabilisation at the moment, the number of cases is not below 2,000 but around 3,000.
Therefore, he added, we need to see how we move in the next few days to start talking about relaxation again.
Asked to comment on countries that have moved to lift restrictions, he said that these are countries that have high vaccination coverage and also have health systems that have more capacity than us in terms of the number of beds either for inpatient or intensive care units.
