There is no other solution than to follow the route of heart transplants from genetically modified pigs, since the shortage of human organs for transplantation around the world is huge, the President of the Cyprus Society of Cardiology, Dr. Theodoros Christodoulides, who describes the first heart transplant attempted in the US from a genetically modified pig as an "important and pioneering step".
